School and Group Tours

The Center is currently not providing guided tours, but exhibits are OPEN to self-guide.  CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES.

The Umpqua Discovery Center is able to provide guided tours through “Pathways to Discovery” and “Tidewaters and Time.”  Both exhibits will examine the Umpqua Basin through murals, interactive activities and sensory experiences.
 
In addition, the following programs are available:

Becoming an Elk, Bear, or Beaver.

Animal Identification – Footprints, Skulls, and Scat.

Gray Whales.

Hexaflexagon – Lifecycle of the Salmon.

Jedidiah Smith and the Umpqua River conflict.

Theater with 30+ films, including the ‘History of Reedsport’.


Guided Tours with Programs are available for groups with advance reservations:

Special Pricing for Schools:

The Center can provide programming for a maximum of 60 students at one time. Each program is an average of 25 minutes.  Pre- and Post – visit curriculum is available.  All programming meets the Oregon Curriculum Content Standards.  With 25 or more students, each student is $3.00 and adults/chaperones are $7.00.  1 teacher is free per 25 students.
