The award winning "Tidewaters & Time" Exhibit Wing captures the unique history of a town where daily life revolved around the ebb and flow of the tides. Take a journey back through time that leads you to: "Paradise of the Past" where you explore the lost culture of the Coastal Indian Tribes. Enter a traditional plank house and learn the fascinating culture of our local Indians from tribal members of the Coos, Lower Umpqua & Siuslaw Indians. "Early Explorers" features trapper/frontiersman Jedediah Smith and the other explorers who discovered that the treasure of the Oregon Coast was it’s vast natural resources.
